i dont know how long this website has been around but im glad i found it tonight. this is an awesome platform for real digital democracy.
whenever i use the word "should" it implies that i know better. i cant say i know better, but im concerned about our public relations. this is a broad subject, but the winter could be the perfect time to brainstorm and strengthen the infrastructure before the spring hits.
its damn near impossible for someone for just recently started their involvement with OWS, to know how to navigate all the different websites, and which ones to go to for updates, etc.
i know this will take time, but i think the solutions may usher in a spiritual revolution through technology.

Hi zadiewalker. Occupy Ideas is a new site - we just opened it to the public last week. It's based on a site called "propongo" that's used by the spanish "Toma La Plaza" / "Take the Square" movement. The site is hosted in New York, but run by a team from around the USA.
One of the reasons we created this site was to help people engage with OWS - feel free to post any questions you may have about how to engage.

Occupy the DoE here in NYC has been fantastic and we've had some good actions around foreclosure auction stoppages. Anything that roots us into local neighborhoods strikes me as a good idea.
I also like the Occupy Town Square model. There's going to be a teach in at Grand Central which could be a great idea going forward.

Occupy the DoE has been so inspiring. They were one of the first groups to use the Mic Check as its own form of disruptive protest.

VOTING! Love or hate the tea party but this is how they have forced politicians to listen. We need to occupy as many elections as we can without prejudice to party or size or scope. In Virginia for example with only 2 on the ballot we can occupy the GOP primary & force a Ron Paul upset.

I feel that we need to keep the focus local. We can really make an impact if we keep the focus on local elections.

Well, I was really hoping we'd have the chance to occupy some igloos in Prospect or Central or Flushing Meadows parks as an Outreach action (teach kids how to make igloos, hand out tea and cocoa with our literature, that sort of thing) but it looks like we're not getting the requisite amount of snow anytime this year.
